Well, hi! A couple of pointers for getting to what you actually want to read:

This journal is semi-friends-locked. If you're here for my boring personal life and don't give a crap about my fics, all of the personal posts are tagged "me." All those posts, the boring personal life stuff, are friends-locked.

However, if you don't give a crap about my personal life and are only here for my fics or artwork, that's great! Every one is tagged "kingdom hearts" or "transformers." They aren't friends-locked, so anyone can enjoy them! :D

You can also warp to a specific fic by using that tag. The fics are tagged as follows:

Part I: GIL.
This hearkens back to those oh-so-far-off days of my childhood when I had a best friend named Michael and we corresponded over e-mail every summer while I was away in Oregon. Around this time my siblings and I used to play this Star Wars game on the computer and there was a ship called the Corellia Star, so I used to sign my letters something along the lines of "Corellia Star, signing off." And then The Lord of the Rings came along and we decided it was time to switch things around. The Elvish translation of "star" is Gil, so that became my new nickname (also part of my e-mail address, which is a whole other story... oddly, also having to do with Michael).

Part II: ONI.
Around this time I got into Zelda (again), and in reading Zelda fanfictions I discovered a really good one where Dark Link was called "Onii." My original fanfiction.net penname was "Onii-Gil," actually, based on that. It later changed to "Oni" with one "i" after I read some stories from Majora's Mask involving the Fierce Deity mask. You see, children, in those days it was general fan belief that "oni" meant something akin to "deity." (Of course, the actual translation is a Japanese ogre demon, but I tend to go with the other one. XD)

And there you have it. And I've used that username for most sites.

Well, here I am, recovering my poor voice after being sick, and I've just finished Chapter 23 of Rise plus an Extra...

So my birthday was last Sunday and the play was this past weekend and now I'm officially tired out, but I have a day off today (which will be used not for relaxing but for more college applications and for work). Well, anyway, I come bearing pictures.

For my birthday I went to Disneyland, where my brother works, and we all had a good time. I would blab more about that but my head is fuzzy. ._.

Oops, poor Mom got all shadowed out by Andrew.
   
Sibling love. Oh, there's one more brother and a sister, but they weren't there.

And then there was the play! We performed The Crucible to great critical acclaim... I was Rebecca Nurse. Oh look, I'm old! And she's been in jail for a while, which explains the dirt...

In the midst of PCVST (Post College Visit Stress Disorder) and PMS (I think we all know that one) and CHOD (Calculus Homework Of Doom), somewhere in the hour break I took between calculus and dinner, Swindle (my beloved iPod) managed to get corrupted.

Prompting the eloquent statement above.

If you don't know me, you don't know how much this drives me crazy. It's absolutely ridiculous, but I adore my iPod with a fervor. I've had it for a few years and I love it in all its 1G glory. 1 gig of only my favorite music. Absolute love on shuffle mode. I've freaked out a couple of times when I thought I'd lost it. He's the second-most-important appliance in my life, aside from Mr. Old Computer here. Cell phone? Pfui. PSP? Fun but nonessential. Swindle? Irreplaceable.

So iTunes is working on him as I type, but this means a) I don't get his dulcet tunes right when I crave them most (other musical options: next-to-nothing, as ye olde CD player is senile and rarely recognizes CDs any more) and b) I have to go through and find EVERY SINGLE SONG that was on there and put it back in my painstaking order never replicated by any of the automatic sorting.

OH, EVEN BETTER. It encountered an error just now in restoring him. Greeeat. I hope it's just because the new iTunes is also downloading and not because of some irreparable harm. Because that would suck, because after three years of dedicated service I'd have to get another. Which involves either funding on my part (money? What's that?) or on my parents', and I don't think that's the sort of thing they'd like to be spending money on right now.

Wonderful. Just wonderful. Again, seems ridiculous, but I'm distraught. Other kids have iPods stuffed with rap; I've got Gershwin. Sondheim. Williams. Things my ears love while I'm writing or suffering from CHOD/PMS/PCVST. I've got an unhealthy kinship with Swindle and it feels like there's been a death in the family.

Fraggit. Someone call Ratchet.

Aside from that, Oberlin. Looks good. Very good. Just might come here. I saw the albino squirrels, which is apparently a sign that it's meant to be. Also wrote NGSFJAE in the library (with the Archivist, of course). Another sign that it's meant to be. Lots of trees here, check. Kittens in the back of the art supply store, check. Comic book store (which I will force to order Transformers), check. Universal wi-fi, check. Art museum, check. Albino squirrels, check. Awesome people, check. Creative writing department, check. Shakespeare class, check. Good chance of getting in, check (hasn't even crossed my mind that I won't, this isn't Harvard but it's not West Virginia Girls' Academy Tech either).

Since I've got some new people poking their noses around here (or, more accurately, poking their noses around here and stumbling over to this place out of morbid curiosity), I decided this was as good a way as any to introduce myself again, or at least give you a sense of the craziness that is me. XD

Okay, so I just searched Youtube for my high school and found that somebody recorded Romeo and Juliet, the Variety Show, and Starmites! All of these were excellent, so I went and looked for my favorite parts to hand off to you guys.

First, from Starmites, we've got Diva. I wasn't in this show, but I went to see it and it was brilliant, especially our own diva, Talia. So here's her song. Oh, the backup's good too, but this is her song.

It's hard to be Diva, but it's so much harder not to be...

And the infamous Cruelty Stomp, which everyone loved/hated. The song itself starts around 3:00; Chris as Trinkulus really stole this show.
